Modern Art Deco and a Lot of History Await in Miami’s Newly Renovated Cardozo Hotel

If you thought that Gloria and Emilio Estefan were just a power couple in the music industry, you’ll be surprised to find that they actually have a talented hand in the hospitality industry as well. After their success with the chic Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa in Vero Beach, Florida, they’ve set their eyes on Miami Beach to leave their next mark.

The Cardozo Hotel

Originally built in 1939, Cardozo Hotel was already an iconic retreat among the stars, with features in movies like There’s Something About Mary and Any Given Sunday. After the Estefans took ownership, the hotel went under a multi-year, 15-million dollar renovation, making it Miami Beach’s next hot spot. Design-wise they have kept the art deco spirit of the locale but modernized it with a fresh white motif that spans throughout the lobby and the 41 guest rooms that occupy the property. Mother-of-pearl headboards, matte white walls, and gold fixtures are just some accents you’ll see throughout your stay.

The Star Treatment

Those looking for a superstar experience can book the 1,500 square-foot penthouse suite that fills the hotel’s top floor. The suite has two king bedrooms, two master bathrooms with soaking tubs and double showers, a living room, a dressing area, and a dining area. Custom furnishings exude the Miami flare that guests seek and they can feel like royalty with views of Miami Beach below.

Visiting Miami Beach

Located right in the heart of South Beach at 13th Street and Ocean Drive, the Cardozo Hotel is ideally located. Many of the rooms provide oceanfront views and all are walking distance from the vibrant nightlife, restaurants, and entertainment that have made Miami famous. Here you can walk around and take in the architecture of this historic Art Deco neighborhood, bask on the white sand beaches, and peruse the many high-end designer stores nearby.
