If the words “Santa’s Village” make you think of falling snowflakes, gift-wrapping elves, and grazing reindeer, you wouldn’t be wrong. But do you ever wonder what happens to this winter wonderland during summertime? In Lake Arrowhead it transforms into SkyPark at Santa’s Village, a premier outdoor adventure park, equipped with a bike park, zip line, climbing and bouldering walls, archery range, and much more. A top spot for adventure-lovers, the park is just as lively in the summer as it is in the winter, but trade the hot cocoa for a cool Moscow Mule.
Hit the Trails
One of the most popular parts of SkyPark are the extensive bike trails that were professionally designed to provide a thrill for all skill levels. Lady Bug Pond Bike tour provides a leisurely ride through the scenic woods that make up Santa’s Village. For a more challenging course check out the Black Diamond Mountain Bike trail. Bikes are available to rent, and they even have a Skill’s Area where you can practice new techniques.
Reach New Heights
Those looking for a thrill off the ground will appreciate the park’s zip line course, bungee-trampoline, and climbing walls. On the Adventure Zipline, you’ll soar 30 feet above the forest floor, feeling the fresh forest air and taking in the unique view. Test your upper arm strength on their Frozen Falls Climbing Tower, a simulated ice climb that offers beginner to advanced routes. Then take to the air on Blitzen Bungee’s hybrid bungee trampoline, where you’ll be catapulted safely above the treeline.
Christmas in July
While all the summer activities are a great distraction from the heat, you might get a bit nostalgic to see Santa’s Village in its full winter glory. That’s why SkyPark has created a special event, Christmas in July, during the 7th and 8th of July, to bring back some of the best of Santa’s Village wintertime fun. Enjoy a classic high tea sit down with Mrs. Claus, where you can snack on delicious scones and finger sandwiches while choosing the perfect tea attire from her costume trunk. You can also snap a picture with Santa Claus and his elves during Santa Claus breakfast, a feast of holiday-themed delicacies, like reindeer pancakes and snowman waffles.
Plan Your Lake Arrowhead Getaway
Lake Arrowhead offers casual luxury that’s less than two hours away from Orange County and Los Angeles. It’s an ideal destination for those looking to take a weekend trip and experience something different in their own backyard. Our favorite mountain hideaway on the lake is Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa since it feels secluded and private without being inaccessible. If enjoying a “dive-in” movie by the pool or enjoying a fine glass of wine under the stars sounds like a good time, this is the place for you.
