Walt Disney World or Universal Studios – The Great Debate

While it would be ideal to have the time to visit all the amazing theme parks in Orlando during your stay, time-sensitive schedules may put you in a position of choosing one beloved park over the other. We know it’s hard to decide, so we’ve narrowed down some key highlights of Orlando’s biggest parks – Disney World and Universal Studios, to make your decision-making a little easier.

The Disney Way

Not only is Disney World an incredible attraction, but it comes with a lot of history and die-hard fans to boot. If you have a little more time in your schedule, then Disney World may be the way to go, since it offers four different parks in one! For those who don’t sway any way in terms of park rides, here’s a breakdown of some of Disney World’s greatest hits:

  • Star Wars
  • Avatar
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Pixar (Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Incredibles)
  • Animated (Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King)

Disney World is an excellent choice if you’re looking for more of fantasy than thrill, which is why if you’re going with young kids, it should move to the top of your list.

The Universal Experience

If you seek some adrenaline during your park-going experience, then Universal Studios is right up your alley. Also, Universal Studios is half the size of Disney World, so you’re still able to see the majority of it if you’re crunched on time. The theme park caters to more of the teenage and up crowd, meaning most of the rides have height requirements, but if that’s not a problem, then you’ll have plenty of action-packed rides available to you. Here are some of the most popular rides at Universal:

  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
  • Fast and the Furious
  • Jurassic Park
  • Despicable Me
  • The Simpsons

Let the Fun Begin

Whichever park you choose, we’re sure you’ll have a fantastic time, and even more so if you decide to stay at a nearby hotel, like The Grove Resort & Spa Orlando. They are super accessible to nearby attractions and even offer a free shuttle service to Disney World.
