One of Florida’s top summertime activities is taking a journey along the Vero Beach Wine and Ale Trail. A mix of beer flights, wine tasting, and amazing venues, the Treasure Coast is the perfect spot to enjoy a long weekend together with a group of friends. With nine breweries and one winery featured on the trail, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try some finely crafted spirits. Here are some of our favorite spots that you can’t miss.
When the Sun is Shining
The Vero Beach Wine and Ale Trail features a good mix of small local breweries and some large name craft breweries. If it’s a sunny day, we recommend carving out a good chunk of time to enjoy a pint along the Indian River Lagoon at Pareidolia Brewing Company’s Beer Garden. It’s a dog-friendly atmosphere, so it’s the go-to brewery if you have any fuzzy friends tagging along with you.
Try the Big Crush Strong Ale made from fresh Muscadine grape skins from Endless Summer Winery.
Inspiring Local Flavors
For a local-inspired tasting, head over to Orchid Island Brewery, where they’ve gained popularity by incorporating Indian River citrus into their sour beers and IPA’s. Another interesting aspect of OIB’s brewing methods is that they pull water from the air to create a pure canvas for their beer since Florida’s groundwater isn’t known to be of the highest quality. This method ensures there are zero impurities, leaving each pint clean and crisp.
Try the Beachside Berliner Weiss, soured with Lactobacillus and balanced with syrups made from locally sourced ingredients, like Pomelo Grapefruit and Caviar Lime syrup.
The Perfect Space For Entertainment
With weekly events always changing, Sailfish Brewing Company is where to go if you’re looking for something a little different from your average beer tasting. You can stretch it out during Bend and Brew yoga or feel the groove by joining in their monthly drum circle. Test your knowledge during Trivia Nights and enjoy local bands play during their Friday Fest jams.
Try the Sunrise City IPA, a Sailfish classic and local favorite.
Plan Your Route
Smack dab in the middle of the Vero Wine and Ale Trail lies the Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa. A celebrity-inspired beachside luxury resort, it’s a great place to stay if you’re planning to take a trip to the Treasure Coast and want to bask in a bit of luxury. Owned and curated by Gloria and Emilio Estefan, the resort has a rejuvenating beach vibe and oceanfront views that you can soak in after a long day of exploring the region’s best local breweries.
